VAIVA Vital Teams Organization

Our Vital Teams Organization (VTO)

At VAIVA, we operate as a Vital Teams Organization (VTO). Instead of traditional hierarchies, small, focused teams are at the center, taking responsibility for their services, results, and collaboration.

Our teams work in close proximity to customers, make decisions where the expertise lies, and evolve together with our products and markets.

Defence programs are under pressure: deliver faster, higher cyber resilience, more software complexity, stricter auditability. At the same time, toolchains are often fragmented, development environments inconsistent, security processes too late in the lifecycle.

VAIVA brings a different background than classic defense suppliers: an engineering framework shaped over years in safety-critical automotive series programs — with ASPICE maturity, V-model discipline, proven toolchains, and continuous process improvement. We adapt this foundation to military development environments, cybersecurity expectations, compliance requirements, and mission logic.

The result: Defense capability with automotive engineering discipline.

How we are organized

How we are organized

How we are organized
At VTO, we work in service teams that are responsible for clearly defined services for internal or external stakeholders—for example in the areas of simulation, AI, safety engineering, defence solutions, or DevSecOps.

The service teams are networked across clusters and domains and coordinate regularly. This keeps us flexible and fast as a team, without losing sight of the bigger picture.

With ICASIS DMS, driver monitoring functions can be developed, tested, and optimized even before the first prototype. The high-precision simulation of the vehicle interior enables fast and robust development of DMS algorithms that detect realistic scenarios such as distraction, fatigue, or lack of attention.

The integrated library makes it possible to directly select NCAP- & GSR-compliant test setups for this purpose. Custom settings also enable rapid adaptation to additional regulatory requirements and market-specific needs.

What makes us successful

At VAIVA, we work on technologies for safety-critical systems in automotive and defence. This requires technical excellence - but also people who take responsibility, create impact, and continuously develop themselves.

Our organization thrives on Vital Teams: small, strong units with high self-responsibility, clear direction, and direct customer proximity. To make this model work, we rely on six success factors.

Defence programs are under pressure: deliver faster, higher cyber resilience, more software complexity, stricter auditability. At the same time, toolchains are often fragmented, development environments inconsistent, security processes too late in the lifecycle.

1. Effect before employment

Professional expertise is the foundation. What matters is what it leads to.

We are looking for people who translate their knowledge into concrete results: working prototypes, better decisions, robust concepts, more efficient processes, or real customer value. At VAIVA, it’s not only how much someone knows — but what contribution that knowledge makes for customers, products, and teams.

What that means:
You work backward from the result, prioritize impact, and visibly drive topics forward.

Defence programs are under pressure: deliver faster, higher cyber resilience, more software complexity, stricter auditability. At the same time, toolchains are often fragmented, development environments inconsistent, security processes too late in the lifecycle.

2. Focus on the essentials

In complex projects, progress comes not from more activity, but from clear priorities.

Our work takes place in demanding technology fields: simulation, AI, safety engineering, defense solutions, DevSecOps, and software development for safety-critical systems. Those who want to be effective here must structure complexity, identify relevant leverage points, and consciously decide what matters right now.

What this means:
You can set priorities, reduce complexity, and direct your energy to the topics that make the biggest difference.

3. Learning by Doing

Technology is changing quickly. So are we.

New markets, new tools, new customer requirements, and new opportunities through AI shape our work. That’s why we believe in development through action: try, learn, improve, and translate what we’ve learned directly into better solutions.

Continuous learning is not an add-on at VAIVA, but part of the work — through projects, feedback, technical articles, podcasts, training, customer requirements, and new industries such as defense.

What this means:
You bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ambition to continuously increase your own effectiveness.

4. Responsibility for Quality and Transparency

High freedom only works with high responsibility.

We expect people to take responsibility for their results — for quality, deadlines, communication, and collaboration. Problems should not be hidden, but addressed early. We see feedback as a tool for improving together.

What this means:
You communicate clearly, raise risks early, use feedback constructively, and actively help shape solutions.

5. Flexibility with Direction

Our roles, projects, and focus areas evolve with the company.

As a growing tech company, we work where customer needs, product development, and strategic opportunities come together. This requires openness to new topics, new responsibilities, and new ways of working — including a conscious on-site presence when it helps strengthen teams, share knowledge, or build closer customer relationships.

What this means:
You are ready to get up to speed on new topics, take on responsibility where it is needed, and understand change as part of growth.

6. Making knowledge scalable

Good work should not stop with a single person.

We want to create results on which others can build. This applies to code, concepts, processes, templates, automations, best practices and project experience. Anyone who shares knowledge and makes it reusable not only increases their own impact, but also strengthens the entire company.

What this means:
You document purposefully, actively share knowledge, think in reusable solutions, and help others get better faster.
